Anyone in the Twin Cities metro area, ages 18–65, without any food allergies and who does not work for a marketing, market research or food company, may sign up to participate with FPI. You must be pre-recruited and qualified for each study that you attend. You may participate in 3–5 studies per year.

If you would like to register or have any questions, please give our office a call (763-553-7787) or fill out the form below. We look forward to including you on the FPI database.

Recruiting & ARCS Info

At FPI, we recruit our panelists for consumer tests by two methods. You may be called by one of our callers or by our Automated Recruiting System (ARCS). The recruiting calls take about 5 minutes to complete. ARCS is a computer that uses a human voice to recruit panelists. ARCS requires a touch tone phone. If you have a rotary phone, please let us know.

In order to communicate with ARCS, each panelist is assigned two numbers - a Panelist ID (PID) and a Personal ID (PIN).

ARCS will only call you at the number you provide. If the ARCS call is answered by an answering machine, it unfortunately cannot distinguish between your recorded message and a human voice, so it begins its opening announcement to you. When you hear the ARCS recording on your machine, it means you can call the ARCS number (763-553-0169) at your convenience to sign up for a test. ARCS is in operation 24 hours per day. If the system rejects your PID and PIN, the call was for another panelist in your household.

It is FPI’s goal to have ARCS be user friendly. Lost PIN and PID? Call 763-553-7787 during business hours.

Consumer Testing Database Sign-up

*Must be a home telephone number or other direct line so that our automated system will be able to reach you or leave a message on your machine. General business lines or voice mail requiring the use of an extension number are not acceptable as our automated system will be unable to reach you.

**Many nonprofit organizations raise funds through taste tests. If you know of an organization that does taste testing with Food Perspectives, choose “Organization” from the drop-down menu and type in the name of the organization in the “Organization Name” box. If you would like to help raise funds for a nonprofit organization (e.g., food shelf, disease research) but do not know of any organizations that are on our database, please call our office at (763) 553-7787 and we will help you select an organization. If you do not wish to be affiliated with any nonprofit organizations, select “Self” on the drop-down menu and leave the “Organization Name” field blank.
